What is a driveway crossover?
The crossover (or vehicle crossing) is the section of driveway that runs from your property boundary, over the nature strip and footpath, to the kerb. It takes the weight of every car coming and going, so it needs to be set out and poured properly.
New crossovers and replacements
We pour new crossovers for new homes and replace old, cracked or damaged ones. For a replacement, we cut and remove the old concrete with our own equipment and reinstate it with a new pour – see concrete removal & reinstatement.
Council requirements
Crossovers sit on council land, so councils (such as Cardinia Shire and the City of Casey) usually require a permit and have their own standards for vehicle crossings. Check with your council before work starts, and talk to us about it when we quote.
Do it with your driveway
A crossover is often done at the same time as a new or replacement driveway, so it's all poured and finished in one job.
